Sleep:

Having a proper good night’s sleep is another aspect that has tremendous beneficial effects to improve our mental health. Although, a recent study has shown that most of us do not get that proper sleep. You need at least seven to eight hours of a sound sleep at night; however, most of us get only six hours of it. Therefore, try to go to bed as early as possible. The extra minutes of sleep will help you to improve your mental health.

Alcohol and other drugs:

No one is asking you to stop drinking. Look, we have no intentions to ruin your weekends. We know how tired you can be after working for a whole week. All we are saying is how much you are going to drink is up to you ultimately. If you are feeling very low, try to cheer yourself up, try interacting more with good friends, watch TV shows or do something. Having alcohol or abusing drugs is the last thing you should do if you are feeling low.

Exercise:

You don’t need to run for the nearest gym and have a membership card. Chances are, you will be ending up showing up in the gym twice a week. So, when we say exercise, we don’t mean suddenly turning out into a gym freak. However, moderate exercises can help you with your mental health and self- esteem. Put your shoes on, turn on the music, and go for a walk whenever you are feeling low. Besides, you can try waking up early morning and have a jog for twenty minutes. Physically active also helps you to improve your self-esteem.

Talking with someone about how you are feeling or the reasons behind your poor self-esteem can prove a fantastic formula to improve your mental health.
