Separation is hard. But is your child cry out loudly or cling to you the very moment when you leave? Your little one is maybe experiencing separation anxiety. Separation anxiety is prevalent and standard in children aged between six months and four years. Almost all children get anxious at some point about separation. Toddlers grow a tight relationship with their parents. The outburst in tears, even in the thought of their parent’s in existence.

 Get your child used to the idea:

Prepare your baby starting from small separations then gradually increasing them. Start by leaving for a few minutes, leaving your baby with his toys. Try to play games like peekaboo. It will give your baby a concept that you will always return.

 Make those return memorable:

Returning home with a happy and cheerful mood can further improve future separation. Try to give them new expressions. Doing this will make your baby forget about how sad he was.

Reward your children while separating. During departure, try to talk about something fun. Don’t be frustrated or distracted while leaving. Avoid those prolonged hugging and goodbyes. The more you try to comfort the child during departure, the more they want.

 Check for the symptoms:

Separation anxiety is common in ages between four months to six years. But if it continues when they are older, then it may become severe. Try to read the symptoms. Behavioral changes, nightmares, lying for not going to school or excessive worrying about parents. Try to visit a Therapist. Separation anxiety is hard for parents as well for children.
